Newcastle United fans on social networking site Twitter want the club to sign Kenedy on a permanent contract from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Kenedy joined Newcastle on loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a left-back, has been a hit at the Magpies and is playing well for Rafael Benitez’s side at the moment.

The Brazilian youngster, who earns £1.3 million per year as salary according to Spotrac.com, has scored two goals and provided two assists in seven Premier League appearances for Newcastle so far this season.

Kenedy, who cost Chelsea £6m in transfer fees when he joined the London club from Fluminense in the summer of 2015 according to The Independent, recently suggested that he would be happy to sign for Newcastle on a permanent contract in the summer transfer window.

ChronicleLive has quoted Kenedy as saying: “If it’s good for everyone, it would be a pleasure to continue wearing the shirt of this great team.”

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Kenedy’s comments about his future and want the Magpies to sign him on a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal star Paul Merson has suggested that Newcastle will not get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and is quoted as saying by ChronicleLive after the Magpies’ win against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Saturday: “Newcastle are one win away from safety.”
