Aleksander Mitrovic has failed to start a single Premier League match for Newcastle this season.

Rafa Benitez is facing a selection headache over who to pick up front for Newcastle United as they face AFC Bournemouth on Saturday in the Premier League – and fans have urged him to select Aleksander Mitrovic.
Dwight Gayle’s return to fitness after suffering with a calf injury sees three strikers vying for a first-team slot in Benitez’s starting eleven, as the Toon play host to Eddie Howe’s Cherries.

However, Benitez has continued to use his favoured 4-2-3-1 system and is unlikely to change that, meaning only one of those three will be given the nod come 3pm on Saturday.
Joselu is Benitez’s other option to lead the line, but he has scored just two goals in 10 appearances for the Magpies, failing to hit the back of the net in his last three outings.

That could see Benitez look to change his preferred frontman, and 23-year-old Mitrovic could the target man he turns to after scoring the same amount of goals as Joselu in just two substitute appearances and an EFL Cup tie.
Newcastle fans are desperate on Twitter to see the powerful Serbia international start in the final third for the Toon, with one fan even stating that Joselu “offers nothing whatsoever”.
