Newcastle fans want Mikel Merino to start against Liverpool

I’d go for pace and lean towards the West Ham and Stoke away performances. Same back four, Merino in for Shelvey alongside Diame, then Ritchie, Atsu and Kenedy behind Perez. Lots of pace, and energy. Defend from front. Tell Merino and Diame not to cross the halfway line.

Think we’ll sit very deep to take away their counter/pace like last time and vs Leicester. Will probably annoy a lot of people, but also our best shot at anything from the game.

I’ll be extremely annoyed if Merino doesn’t start tomorrow mind.

Hayden not up to it.

Only other option would be to start Murphy and move Ritchie inside next to Diame…which won’t happen.

So I’d assume we’d see Merino and Diame centrally. #NUFC
