The Magpies academy ace has 20 goals for the club this season and some fans want him to be in the Premier League squad against Fulham.

Newcastle United Under-23s forward Elias Sorensen is in the running for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award, as per the official club website.
The 19-year-old has netted 20 goals this term, including 12 in the second tier, to guide the Magpies towards a fourth-place finish in the division.
His efforts have helped Newcastle set up a playoff final against Southampton along with competing in the Premier League Cup final against Everton on Wednesday night.
The Dane had actually scored 19 goals for the Premier League club’s U23s before the turn of the new year (Chronicle Live), which helped him secure a stint on loan at League One side Blackpool.
During two months at the Lancashire club, however, Sorensen played just 32 minutes of first-team football and was not even in the matchday squads in the latter stages (Transfemarkt), leading to an early recall.
Earlier in the year he also won the Wor Jackie Award, presented to the club’s young player of the year, and penned a three-and-a-half year deal at St James’ Park.
Here is how some Newcastle fans reacted on Twitter to the announcement:
Also in the running are Eddie Nketiah (Arsenal), Aaron Connolly (Brighton and Hove Albion), Bassala Sambou, Morgan Feeney (both Everton), Rafael Camacho (Liverpool), Adam Idah (Norwich City), Danny Loader (Reading) and Will Smallbone (Southampton).
The winner of the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award will be announced on Wednesday 16 May, at the Premier League Youth Development Conference hosted by Fulham.
