Mo Diame is rapidly establishing himself as a fan favourite at Newcastle United.

Newcastle United fans have acknowledged Mo Diame’s revival on Twitter.
The former Hull City midfielder has been nothing short of outstanding for Newcastle since the turn of the year and his improvement was exemplified by his powerful performance in the 1-0 win over Manchester United.
It does not seem that long ago that fans of the North-East club were hounding Diame – and for good reason.

The 30-year-old was posting a number of rather lazy performances during the first half of the campaign and Magpies supporters jeered him off in a 1-0 defeat by Everton on December 13.
But he looks a man reborn as of late and his form has forced fans to perform a u-turn with regards to Diame, a £4.5 million signing in 2016.

Asked about his form by The Shields Gazette, he said: “As I’ve said before, it wasn’t easy for me, but I kept working, and I feel better every game.
“Hopefully, I can be a regular for the rest of the season and give a good performance.”
It must be said that Rafael Benitez deserves huge credit for the turnaround.
Diame has looked absolutely finished at Newcastle on more than one occasion this season, but the Spanish manager has kept faith, even when fans were ironically cheering him off the field, and it looks like all parties are benefiting from that show of faith now.
But consistency is key and unless the former West Ham replicates his stunning form when United travel to Bournemouth on Saturday then you have to question what the point is.
