Newcastle United fans appear to be hoping for Dwight Gayle to move on.
Newcastle United struggled against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon, and the game may have seen Islam Slimani appear in a Magpies shirt for the final time.
Slimani has been charged with violent conduct by the FA for an apparent kick on Craig Dawson, and his impending three-match ban summed up a torrid afternoon for Newcastle.
With Slimani seemingly heading back to Leicester City this summer with no permanent move in the offing, and whilst Rafael Benitez will assess his attacking options this summer, fans want one forward to leave alongside Slimani.
Forward Dwight Gayle has been in and out of the Newcastle side this season, and has scored just five goals this season as Benitez has struggled to settle on a regular striker.
The 27-year-old may be primed for the chopping block this summer, and his former club Crystal Palace posted a photo on Twitter which sparked Newcastle fans into wanting Gayle to leave.
Palace spotted that Gayle, who left Palace in 2016, is still using a suitcase with a Palace badge evident, and the Eagles joked that they wanted the suitcase back.
Newcastle fans pounced on the tweet and suggested that Palace can not only have their suitcase back, but can take Gayle back too, joking that they would want Andros Townsend or Wilfried Zaha in exchange, with many simply wanting to get shut of Gayle and send him back to Selhurst Park.
