Newcastle United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Charlie Austin.

Newcastle United have snapped up one striker this week in Hoffenheim’s Joelinton, but Steve Bruce will surely move to bring in another centre forward.
The Magpies have lost Salomon Rondon, Ayoze Perez and Joselu from last season, with Joelinton brought in to replace Rondon as the main centre forward.
With the Brazilian inexperienced in the Premier League, landing another striker with Premier League football under his belt may not be a bad idea for Bruce and co.
The Chronicle report that Southampton have now offered Charlie Austin to Newcastle, as they look to ship the 30-year-old out of the club after an alleged row with boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Bruce has previously tried to sign Austin, as he told Sky Sports, and a move may well appeal given that he can be signed for cheap with just one year left on his contract.
Austin did only score three times last season though, and has well-documented injury problems, meaning some may not be quite so eager to get a deal done.

However, Austin merely posted about the UK’s heatwave on Wednesday, and was bombarded with messages from Newcastle fans urging him to join.
Many were telling Austin they will see him soon as he’ll make a move to Tyneside, where the heat isn’t quite so strong, backing him to make the move to St James’ Park this summer.
