The trip to London will kick off at 12:30pm on a Saturday while the Molineux game is now on Monday night- and some of the Magpies faithful aren’t happy.

The Premier League has announced on their official website that two Newcastle United fixtures have been rescheduled.

Both games are away from home, with the trips to Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers both seeing their kickoff date or time changed.

The trip to north London will still go ahead on Saturday, February 2, but it will now get underway at an earlier time of 12:30pm.

Meanwhile, the journey to the West Midlands will now take place on Monday, with an 8pm kickoff on February 11.

According to Google Maps, Newcastle to London is approximately 290 miles – around five hours by car each way – while Newcastle to Wolverhampton is up to 223 miles (up to four hours each way by car) – large distances to have to cover early on Saturday morning or late on Monday.

As a result, some Toon Army fans were not particularly enthused about the schedule changes, taking to Twitter to make their feelings known:

Prior to their 2-1 win over Burnley on November 26, Newcastle had lost 10 Monday night matches in a row, according to Chronicle Live.

Aside from the supposed curse of that particular kickoff time, you really have to feel for the away fans who will no doubt be setting off (against Spurs) or getting back (against Wolves) in the early hours of the morning.
