Newcastle United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking Tim Krul with a move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the former Newcastle goalkeeper, who is leaving Brighton and Hove Albion this summer, could be an option for Spanish and European giants Barcelona as a potential replacement for Jasper Cillessen.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper at Barcelona at the moment, meaning that the La Liga outfit are (reportedly) looking at Krul as a back-up.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper was on the books of Newcastle from 2005 until 2017 when he was released by Rafael Benitez and moved to Premier League rivals Brighton.
With his contract at the Seagulls now coming to an end, Krul is set to become a free agent and will not cost Barcelona any transfer fee.
The 30-year-old has had injury issues, but the Dutchman is a hugely experienced goalkeeper.
