The Chelsea defender is a rumoured January target for the Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce.

Newcastle United fans are reacting to reports crediting their side with interest in the Chelsea right-back Reece James.
The Newcastle manager Steve Bruce wants to bring James to St James’ Park on loan, according to The Sun on Sunday (October 27, page 61).
The teenager, who excelled at Wigan Athletic last season, has played five times for Chelsea this campaign. However, the newspaper claims that Bruce is willing to give him the stage to play every week and will put his case to the Blues ahead of the January transfer window.
James was linked to a succession of clubs throughout the summer period, and is said to have several other admirers.

But that, nor the likelihood of Chelsea retaining the versatile player, will not stop Bruce enquiring, according to The Sun on Sunday, as he seeks to address a position which has been occupied by as many as three Newcastle players this season.
Bruce has previously spoken about missing the presence of Mohamed Diame in central midfield – a problem that could also be solved by James.
But what do those of a Newcastle persuasion make of the rumour? This is what they are saying on Twitter…
