Newcastle United ensured they stayed top of the table with a 2-1 victory against Burton Albion this weekend.
The Magpies won courtesy of goals from Dwight Gayle and Mo Diame, ensuring Lloyd Dyer’s first-half equaliser was ultimately a mere consolation.
While many of Newcastle’s players have been praised throughout the campaign, a couple have been the target of more than their fair share of criticism.
One of those is Diame, but he was saved from the boo boys this weekend with defender Paul Dummett instead coming into the firing line.
Dummett has featured 22 times already this season so he is clearly rated by Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez. However he still appears to have some way to go before he wins over all the fans at St. James’ Park.
