Newcastle United are reportedly showing interest in the Crystal Palace left-back.

According to talkSPORT (broadcast on 9th January), Newcastle United are looking to sign a left-back in the January transfer window, and have held talks with Crystal Palace about signing their left-back Pape Souare on loan for the rest of the season.
The Magpies are in the market for a left-back due to the lack of support for Paul Dummet, who has struggled with a hamstring injury at the start of the season.

Palace have both Patrick Van Aanholt and Jeffrey Schlupp ahead of him in the pecking order, and therefore the Eagles could be open to letting him go.
Newcastle fans do not seem convinced with the transfer link, with many questioning why would Palace be willing to sell the 27-year-old to a direct rival club.

Rafael Benitez has made it clear that he needs to bolster the squad this month, but with finances being tight at St James’ Park, he could be willing to scout the loan market to bring the right profile of players.
The Magpies currently sit 13th in the Premier League with 22 points, same point with Crystal Palace.
