Newcastle United lost to Chelsea in their latest Premier League clash.

Newcastle United are in worrying form, with their 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea meaning the Magpies have now gone six games without a victory, and to be honest it is hard to see where their next win is coming from given their run.
Newcastle’s goal came courtesy of Dwight Gayle, who is making a name for himself as a fine poacher of potentially important strikes away from home against some of the top teams in the division.
The issue comes when Newcastle almost invariably capitulate soon after and that was the case when Chelsea fired back through an Eden Hazard brace and another goal from Alvaro Morata.
As a consequence, Chelsea ran out comfortable winners, while Newcastle were left to lick their wounds and ensure they get back to winning ways prior to the hectic Christmas fixtures.
One Newcastle player who was not at the races was midfielder Mo Diame, who has come in from the cold to feature fairly regularly under Magpies boss Rafa Benitez since injuries and suspensions took their toll at St. James’ Park.
The 30-year-old was much-maligned by the Newcastle faithful last season, and it seems there has been little change this time round.
Diame may be back in contention but it is hard to see that remaining the case for the long term.
