Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce reportedly wants to sign Aston Villa full-back Ahmed Elmohamady.

A number of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Sun over the weekend suggesting that Steve Bruce is keen to sign Aston Villa full-back Ahmed Elmohamady.
It is certainly one of the most predictable transfer rumours of the summer. Bruce signed the Egypt international for Sunderland, Hull and then Villa – and is now reportedly hoping to sign the 31-year-old for a fourth club.
There is a problem however, with The Sun reporting that he is battling with the Magpies’ recruitment team as he attempts to get the club to make a move for Elmohamady. The club would reportedly prefer to sign a younger player at full-back, with Emil Krafth on their radar.
And it is clear which side the Newcastle fans want to come out on top in this situation. Elmohamady has been a shrewd signing for the Villans, capable of being deployed in a couple of positions and often proving to be a reliable member of the squad.

However, several Magpies supporters have insisted that he is not good enough to improve Bruce’s squad. They do not believe that he is an upgrade on the options already available to the Englishman, and thus, they are keen for the club to look elsewhere.
Some fans have even gone so far as to suggest that a move for the Villans man would take the shine off what has been a decent spell in the window on Tyneside. They have bounced back from a slow start, but it appears that only Bruce may think that a move for Elmohamady would be the icing on the cake.
