Newcastle fans react to latest rumour about Mike Ashley

Mike Ashley wants more than £300 million for Newcastle United, according to a report.

Newcastle United fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumour that Mike Ashley has increased his asking price for the club.

The Mirror reported on Sunday that Amanda Staveley’s takeover bid was “back on” after Ashley collapsed negotiations earlier this year.

At the time, Newcastle were under serious threat of being relegated from the Premier League and the Magpies owner was looking for around £300 million.

But the St James’s Park club are now 10 points clear of the relegation zone and all but guaranteed to retain their top-flight status beyond this season, sitting 10th in the table.

As a result, The Shields Gazette reported this morning that Ashley will want more than £300 million to part company with Newcastle after his 11-year ownership.
