Reports have emerged suggesting a deal for the Magpies is still on and reaction from the Toon Army has been mixed.

The Newcastle United on-off-on-again takeover saga is now back “on”, if recent media reports are to be believed.
It was previously believed that the consortium led by Peter Kenyon had given up on the deal to purchase the Premier League club due to reported issues in raising the £300million which would reportedly convince Mike Ashley to sell.
However, the Daily Mail has published an article saying it had seen a letter sent by the former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive before Christmas which “makes it plain” that the prospect of a sale is still on, with talks reportedly set to continue.
In addition, North-East news outlet Chronicle Live has also given this report its backing, by saying they can confirm that dialogue between Kenyon and Ashley has taken place in the last fortnight and that both parties are serious about the club changing hands.
