Newcastle United are interested in signing Kevin Trapp on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Magpies want the Paris Saint-Germain keeper on loan for the rest of the season as Rafa Benitez looks to bolster his goalkeeping option.

Newcastle find themselves 13th in the Premier League, two points clear of the bottom three, and Benitez has stressed the need to bring in new players in the squad.
Adding depth and quality to his attacking line up should be Benitez’s main priority, and as such signing a keeper should not be his primary concern.
Of course, the club should look to improve every area of the pitch, but the Magpies have three very decent goalkeepers on their books. Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot have done well this season, while Freddie Woodman is the one for the future.

However, Rafa probably is looking for an experienced keeper and that is why has shifted his focus on Trapp. Kika Casilla is also on their radar, while an enquiry for Joe Hart has been rejected.
The German international has struggled for game time this season, and he would be a good addition to the Magpies squad. Newcastle fans took to social networking site Twitter to express their reaction:
