The Premier League’s return is drawing ever closer, and clubs are starting to play training games ahead of the comeback.

Now games have been played for almost three months now, with the global pandemic suspending the season sine March.

Premier League action will return behind closed doors later this month, and Newcastle United staged a training game on Saturday.

The inter-squad game at St James’ Park finished 1-1, with Joelinton and Nabil Bentaleb on the scoresheet as they look to find some form.

Two weeks today, Newcastle will take on Sheffield United, and Steve Bruce will be desperate to see Joelinton pick up some confidence.

The Brazilian hitman has scored just one league goal this season, and he has looked devoid of confidence for much of the campaign.

Newcastle fans have been taking to Twitter to react after he scored on Saturday, finishing from close range having previously gone close from a strong run and shot.

Some believe that Joelinton looks confident, backing him to come good for Newcastle after a tricky campaign.

A number of supporters even believe that the 23-year-old could be a ‘man transformed’ when football returns, because he won’t have Newcastle fans on his back.
