The Newcastle United summer signing was in excellent form at Easter Road.

Newcastle United continued their preparations for the new English Premier League season with a 3-1 win away to Hibernian on Tuesday night.
Goals from Joelinton, Sean Longstaff and Jamaal Lascelles cancelled out an earlier opener from Stevie Mallan to ensure that Steve Bruce and his squad take a positive step towards the season opener against Arsenal.
It was Joelinton’s first start for the club and the record signing, who arrived for a reported £40m earlier this month, was sharp throughout. He gave fans a glimpse of what could be to come in the English top-flight.
After his record signing there’s no doubt that a bit of pressure rests on the Brazilian’s shoulders, but he looks happy, confident and eager to impress.
His instinctive effort from a Javier Manquillo cross demonstrated some of the finishing ability Newcastle will be hoping he can show off on a regular basis.
Both he and Miguel Almiron look like they could forge an effective attacking combination too. If they can both stay fit and in form then the Magpies will have a chance to punish opposition teams over the next 12 months.

There’s a long way to go and Hibs weren’t the strongest of opponents, but with off the pitch problems and displeasure dominating the club’s pre-season, it must be pleasing for some fans to see that Bruce is making some sort of on the pitch progress.
These fans are excited about Joelinton’s potential after Tuesday’s display, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
