Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Liverpool’s Harry Wilson.

Harry Wilson of Derby County looks on at Pride Park Stadium on December 17, 2018 in Derby, England.

Newcastle United have yet to secure Rafael Benitez’s future as manager, but that hasn’t stopped them from being linked with a host of potential targets.

Benitez’s contract expires in a matter of weeks, and any transfers appear unlikely until his future is resolved at St James’ Park.

Still, Newcastle are being linked with players on a regular basis, and one of the new names in the mix is Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

Wilson, 22, has hit 18 goals during a loan spell with Derby County, and could yet help the Rams win promotion by beating Aston Villa in the upcoming Championship playoff final.

The Welshman has impressed with his set pieces and long-range shooting, but Liverpool may choose to cash in if they don’t feel he can reach their first team.

Sky Sports claim that Newcastle are one of a host of clubs keen on Wilson, but with Liverpool seeking £25million for the winger, a permanent move seems unlikely.

A loan move may be more feasible, and Newcastle fans have been taking to Twitter in order to react to the rumour, with some believing that he’s exactly what Newcastle need, branding him ‘some talent’ and the ‘left-footed James Maddison’.

Others aren’t quite so convinced, believing that Wilson goes missing too often and is massively overhyped, urging Benitez to look elsewhere.
