Newcastle United’s Fabian Schar played on after being knocked unconscious on international duty this past weekend.

Newcastle United fans on Twitter are angry that Fabian Schar was allowed to play on for Switzerland on Saturday.
The Newcastle centre-back was knocked unconscious after a clash of heads with Georgia player Jemal Tabidze during a Euro 2020 qualifier.
According to BBC, Georgian player Jano Ananidze opened the defender’s mouth to free up Schar’s tongue to prevent him from swallowing it.
This occurred in the 24th minute in Tbilisi and the Magpies star played the remaining 66 minutes, after lengthy treatment.
And some fans of the St James’s Park club are questioning why he was allowed to continue.
Schar is a very big player for Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle, but that is secondary to the star’s welfare and it does seem odd – some might argue negligent – that he was allowed to continue after such a serious problem.
The important thing is that he is okay, but it does raise major questions which Switzerland’s Football Association will ultimately need to answer.
