Several Newcastle United fans have backed Elias Sorensen for a chance in Rafa Benitez’s side.

A number of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to urge Rafa Benitez to hand Elias Sorensen a chance in the first-team as he continued his brilliant run of form with a hat-trick for the under-23s on Monday night.
The Magpies have made a dreadful start to the new Premier League season and find themselves in the relegation zone. They have scored just four goals in their first seven games.
The likes of Ayoze Perez, Salomon Rondon and Yoshinori Muto are yet to open their accounts in the league, and the need for inspiration already appears to be becoming desperate.
So could Benitez take a real gamble and turn to a 19-year-old still awaiting his first-team debut to lead the line against Manchester United? Many fans certainly hope so.

That is after Sorensen took his tally for the campaign to seven in all competitions with a treble against Fulham’s U23s on Monday. The Dane’s hat-trick inspired Newcastle to a 5-2 win, and left plenty of supporters urging Benitez to promote the youngster ahead of the weekend.
It would be a huge risk to use Sorensen at Old Trafford, but it is understandable why some of the fans are keen to see a major change and things shaken up as they could certainly be forgiven for fearing the worst about this season as things stand.

Here is how some supporters reacted to Sorensen’s hat-trick on Monday night…
