Newcastle United fans on Twitter are furious over a fixture change.

A Newcastle fans shows his frustration during the Premier League match between Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth at St. James Park on November 4, 2017 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Newcastle United’s visit to Everton next month has been re-scheduled for broadcasting purposes.

The clash at Goodison Park was originally meant to take place on Saturday, April 21, but Newcastle announced today that the game has been moved to an 8pm kickoff time on the Monday night.

It will now be televised live on Sky Sports and fans of the St James’s Park club, many of whom had already made travel arrangements, are furious with the decision.

Here is how they reacted on Twitter.

Newcastle fans might be a lot less angry about the decision if by then Rafael Benitez’s side are safe from relegation.

At the moment, the Magpies are five points clear of the bottom three after thumping Southampton at St James’s Park last time out.

Their next three games before the trip to Merseyside are home matches with Huddersfield and Arsenal, either side of a visit to Leicester.

Six points from nine there isn’t an unrealistic target and there is every chance that Benitez’s troops could be effectively safe from relegation by the time that the trip to Goodison comes around.
