Newcastle United playmaker Miguel Almiron may be dropped this weekend.

Newcastle United are back in action this weekend, as they travel to take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
The Magpies could only muster a 0-0 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening, failing to really take advantage of a game billed as an early six-pointer.
Steve Bruce has come in for criticism since that result, and he may well be considering major changes for the trip to Leicester this weekend.
The Daily Star note that Jonjo Shelvey could be dropped, but the bigger news is that Bruce is also looking to drop playmaker Miguel Almiron to the bench.
Almiron, 25, was a big-money signing in January at £21milllion, and impressed under Rafael Benitez following his arrival from Atlanta United.
Under Bruce though, Almiron has really struggled to make an impression this season, and is still without a goal for the Magpies having failed in front of goal repeatedly.

However, the idea that Almiron will be dropped hasn’t gone down too well with Newcastle fans, with many believing it would be ‘ridiculous’ and ‘an absolute joke’.
Some think Almiron needs to be supported rather than dropped, and feel Bruce is ‘clueless’ if he puts the Paraguayan on the bench, even suggesting that he will go the same way as Steve McClaren’s dilemma with Georginio Wijnaldum and Ayoze Perez back in 2015.
