Newcastle United have been linked with Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.

Newcastle United appear to be safe in the Premier League for another year after beating Leicester City 1-0 on Friday night, thanks to Ayoze Perez’s goal.

The Magpies can almost certainly begin planning for next season now, though the ongoing confusion over Rafael Benitez’s future is a problem.

Transfer targets may already be lined up by the Magpies, and The Chronicle reported just days ago that Newcastle and Benitez have been watching Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.

Fraser, 25, has been sensational for the Cherries this season, racking up seven goals and 11 assists in 34 Premier League games in a superb campaign.

The Scot has been an assist machine for Bournemouth, with only two players – Christian Eriksen and Eden Hazard – notching more Premier League assists this season, and even then, they’re only one ahead.

Fraser is quick, his end product is impressive and he works incredibly hard, meaning he is unsurprisingly attracting interest, though a move to Newcastle would be a surprise.

Some Magpies fans have now taken to Twitter in order to react, with some feeling that he would be a superb signing for the club, but ultimately unrealistic given the money required to land him.

Others are split on whether to sacrifice Matt Ritchie for him, whilst a couple of fans believe that Newcastle is actually a step down from Bournemouth now, such is the state of affairs at St James’ Park…
