Newcastle United fans watched Aleksandar Mitrovic score in his second successive game this evening.

On-loan Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic was among the heroes as Fulham beat Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at Craven Cottage tonight.
The Serbia marksman doubled Fulham’s lead on 71 minutes by rifling a low shot past John Ruddy to effectively seal the points for the Cottagers.

Mitrovic joined the London club on loan from Newcastle this past January, and tonight’s goal was his second in as many games, having scored in the 1-1 draw with Bristol City on Wednesday.
In contrast, his parent club threw away a two-goal lead at Bournemouth earlier today, and seeing their striker prove successful at another club has enhanced the gloomy mood among Magpies supporters to some extent.

Mitrovic didn’t start a single Premier League game at Newcastle under Rafael Benitez this season, and hadn’t played since the 3-2 defeat by Leicester City on December 9.
For whatever reason, Benitez preferred Dwight Gayle – who scored twice today – and Joselu over the former Anderlecht hitman, but time will tell whether the Spanish manager was right to do so.
If he keeps scoring in the Championship, it won’t look good for Benitez.
