Newcastle United were linked with a lot of big-name players earlier in the summer.
When it was reported that Saudi PIF were set to take over the St James’s Park club, a whole host of stars were being linked with moves to the North East.
There was speculation about the likes of Edinson Cavani, Philippe Coutinho and even Gareth Bale joining Newcastle, to play under prospective new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
But it was announced in recent weeks that the takeover wouldn’t be happening and therefore the rumour mill should’ve slowed down somewhat, but United are now linked with another big-name star.
According to TuttoJuve, the Geordies are set to offer £18 million to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
Okay, the £18 million part isn’t that unrealistic, but the whole signing is when you consider the fact that the former Arsenal player earns an eye-watering £400,000 per week in Turin.
And suffice to say that a lot of Newcastle fans simply aren’t buying it.
