Newcastle have allowed goalkeeper Tim Krul to join Brighton on loan.

Tim Krul has left Newcastle United to join Brighton and Hove Albion on loan for the season.
Krul completed the move just minutes before the transfer deadline passed.
He links up with former Newcastle manager Chris Hughton, who was integral in convincing him to join the Seagulls.

Krul’s Newcastle career was hurt by a serious knee injury sustained in 2015/16, and the club were later relegated.
They planned without him last season and he joined Dutch club AZ Alkmaar on loan.
Rafa Benitez made him available once again and he now has another chance to get his career back on track in the Premier League.

Krul is a Dutch international who starred at the 2014 World Cup, and the move could help him achieve a 2018 squad place if he performs well.
For Newcastle it is a little of a gamble to let Krul join a club they could be battling against for survival.
They know all about how talented the goalkeeper is and will have to hope the decision does not come back to haunt them.
