Newcastle United could reportedly target Jose Mourinho if the Magpies secure new owners this summer.

A number of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from the Daily Mirror over the weekend which suggested that the Magpies could sack Rafa Benitez and replace him with Jose Mourinho if the club have new owners this summer.
Newcastle fans are once again are having to deal with reports that a takeover could be in the offing, with the Daily Mirror reporting that Sheikh Khaled is discussing potentially buying the Magpies from Mike Ashley.
And it appears that the potential new owner could be planning to make a very controversial decision as soon as he arrives at St James’ Park – should he manage to get his takeover across the line.
The Mirror reports that Benitez could be released and Mourinho could be brought in as the club’s new manager. Unsurprisingly, the reports have divided opinion amongst the fans on social media.

Benitez is surely the most popular figure at the club right now, so the plans to let him go have angered some of the Toon Army with many feeling that he deserves the chance to lead the Magpies in a post-Ashley era.
However, there are some who believe that Ashley leaving is the most important issue this summer. And it appears that some would rather have Sheikh Khaled and Mourinho than Ashley and Benitez.
