Newcastle fans booed Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko was an unlikely starter yesterday against former club Newcastle.
The France international was ruthlessly booed by the home crowd at his every touch, and when he was substituted off after 58 minutes.
Sissoko left Newcastle last year on deadline day for Spurs in a vastly overpriced £30 million deal.

Despite netting the club a fee far above his value, Sissoko’s performances in his final season for Newcastle were poor, and seeing him step it up a gear at Euro 2016 for France left a bad impression, just after his club had been relegated.
In yesterday’s game, Sissoko managed 41 touches, and created two goalscoring chances.
He made two tackles, two clearances and one interception, but it was only after his replacement Heung-Min Son came on that Tottenham kicked on, going on to win the game 2-0.

It is unclear if Sissoko still has a future at Tottenham, but he remains a player Mauricio Pochettino feels he can call upon with the squad currently stretched due to injuries and a lack of signings.
Newcastle will wish their return to the Premier League had gone differently, but Sissoko is not a player they wish they could have back.
