A number of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Chronicle that have suggested that the Magpies have scouted Moise Kean on several occasions in recent months.

Rafa Benitez is still awaiting the chance to make his first signing of the January transfer window, and the Chronicle has hinted that his options may now be limited to loan deals involving targets currently plying their trade outside of England.

And one of the players that Newcastle seemingly have been keeping a very close eye on is Juventus starlet Kean, with the Chronicle reporting that the Magpies have scouted the 18-year-old more than a dozen times in recent months.

Kean is one of the most exciting forward prospects anywhere in Europe. He has had a taste of first-team football with the Old Lady – making one substitute appearance in the Champions League this term – but it would probably not be a huge surprise if he did leave Turin on loan this month.

Nevertheless, there are not many Newcastle fans who appear to have any faith that Tyneside will prove to be his destination.

The Toon Army seem resigned to the idea that they must not celebrate any kind of transfer until it is completely confirmed, and they cannot see how Newcastle will be the ones to win the race to sign such a promising talent, even if he is available on a temporary basis.
