Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Miguel Almiron during the January transfer window.

A number of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports emerging from The Sun on Sunday (28/10; page 59) that have suggested that the Magpies are considering a potential move for Miguel Almiron.
Almiron has been one of the most impressive performers in Major League Soccer this term, scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists for Atlanta United, who continue to set the pace in the Eastern Conference heading into the final game of the regular season.
The Sun on Sunday (28/10; page 59) reports that Mike Ashley is ready to spend some money in January with Newcastle’s situation already looking fairly bleak, and Almiron is one player that Rafa Benitez has his eye on.
The Paraguayan has been scouted by the Magpies and could cost around £11 million. It must be mentioned that Tottenham, West Ham and Arsenal have all been linked, so it would be no surprise if that asking price increased by January.

The news that Newcastle could be interested in Almiron has left plenty of supporters feeling pleased. It is clear that the Magpies need additional quality in attack after failing to score in four of their last five games.
And those who have seen the attacking midfielder play believe that he is capable of making the step up to the Premier League and would be a good signing if he did arrive. After several frustrating windows however, it is no surprise that some are not expecting the forward to turn up at St James’ Park anytime soon.

Here is what some of the supporters make of the reports…
