Kenedy impressed on his Newcastle debut.
Brazilian defender Kenedy made a big impression on his Newcastle United debut last night at home to Burnley.
Kenedy won a penalty for the Toon which Joselu promptly missed – an error which could have cost Newcastle a win.
Despite Joselu’s miss, Kenedy was a real bright spark for Rafa Benitez’s side, and he is already looking like an astute acquisition.
Signed on loan from Chelsea, Kenedy’s chances at Stamford Bridge were limited but he has a real chance of establishing himself in Newcastle’s first choice XI between now and the end of the season.
The Brazilian was confident in possession and made clever runs forward, adding an attacking threat from the wing that Newcastle have often lacked this season.
The 1-1 draw was not an ideal result for either side but if Newcastle were looking for positives – Kenedy was a big one.
He created three chances – more than any other player on the pitch despite being substituted off after 72 minutes. Burnley hit their equaliser in the 85th.
