Newcastle United bounced back from a 2-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers by beating Huddersfield Town 1-0 on Saturday.
The Magpies were left fuming after that defeat to Wolves, and knew that the trip to Huddersfield would be key as the two teams scrap for points.
It was Newcastle who came away with all three points, as Javi Manquillo crossed for Salomon Rondon to tuck home the winner in the second half.
Newcastle stood firm and kept another away clean sheet, their fourth of the season as Rafael Benitez’s men picked up a vital three points.
A number of players impressed for Newcastle, but defender Fabian Schar again made a mockery of the fee Benitez paid for him over the summer.
The Swiss centre back, 26, cost just £3million after Newcastle activated a release clause in his Deportivo La Coruna contract following their relegation from La Liga.

Schar has impressed in the Newcastle side this season, and fans took to Twitter to hail his performance after yet another solid showing against Huddersfield.
Fans suggested that Schar was ‘immense’ against the Terriers, and suggeste that he is an absolutely inspired signing having again shown his class on Saturday afternoon.
