Newcastle United supporters have had their say on relegation rivals Huddersfield Town parting ways with David Wagner.
Newcastle United supporters believe Huddersfield have accepted relegation after they parted company with manager David Wagner on Monday evening.
The Yorkshire club announced on their official website that their German Head Coach has departed his role by mutual consent following their goalless draw at Cardiff at the weekend.
Wagner leaves Huddersfield bottom of the Premier League table and with only two wins from their 22 league matches this season.
Newcastle are also in the bottom three alongside the managerless club, but at this moment in time, they are seven points ahead of them in the table.
Some Newcastle fans on Twitter felt that Wagner’s departure means Huddersfield have admitted defeat in their fight for relegation as they have a real battle on their hands with 16 games to go.
One Toon Army supporter even claimed that he wouldn’t mind swapping Wagner for their current manager Rafa Benitez because he plays football ‘the right way’.
Another fan echoed those thoughts by stating if Newcastle end up ‘Rafa-less’ in the near future then he wouldn’t mind Wagner taking charge at St James’ Park.
Nonetheless, Wagner’s surprise decision to leave could have big bearings on who goes down at the end of the season because a positive appointment could result in the Yorkshire club staying up.
