Newcastle will always be an attractive club given the size of the club, and Ranieri is a big enough name for owner Mike Ashley to think he has found a good replacement.
But Ranieri’s pre and post Leicester record is described as patchy at best, and while he has made fools of those who wrote him off before, its tough to assume he would be a success at Newcastle.
