Newcastle United striker Aleksander Mitrovic started for Serbia in their friendly against China on Friday.

Aleksander Mitrovic continued his fantastic form for Serbia by scoring in his country’s 2-0 friendly win over China on Friday afternoon – and Newcastle United fans have reacted by calling on Rafa Benitez to start him for the Toon.
The 23-year-old secured the win in Asia with a close-range header as he brushed aside the China defenders to head home an inch-perfect cross from left-footed ace Ivan Obradovic.

Mitrovic scored his second goal of the season for Serbia and his fourth of 2017-18 for both club and country, after finding the back of the net for his country against Moldova as well Toon strikes when facing West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
The former Anderlecht striker has been given little opportunity to Mitrovic in the Premier League this season, making just two appearances in England’s top tier with Joselu and Dwight Gayle preferred to him.

But Mitrovic could now be given a start in the Toon’s next outing against Manchester United at Old Trafford on November 18, as he continues his red-hot form on the international scene.
Newcastle fans have pleaded with Benitez on Twitter to give Mitrovic a chance, with some fans questioning why Joselu starts over him.
