Everton set to beat Newcastle United to Manchester City defender.

Newcastle United appear set to miss out on yet another transfer target, once again to Everton.
Earlier in the transfer window the Toffees beat Newcastle to Cenk Tosun. Now Everton are set to sign Eliaquim Mangala too.
SkySports report Mangala is joining Everton on loan until the end of the season.
This is despite Toffees boss Sam Allardyce once labelling the French centre-back as a weak link.

Mangala has made only five starts in the Premier League for Manchester City this season and his chances will be even more limited after they signed Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao.
The prospect of signing Mangala divided Newcastle supporters, but their transfer window has been so frustrating that this latest miss piles on the pain.
Newcastle began the transfer window hoping the club was going to be taken over, but talks broke down.

Owner Mike Ashley has not spent the cash himself in order to win over fans, who are concerned relegation is a very real prospect.
Not all Newcastle fans are disappointed to miss out on Mangala, but the failure to get a deal done adds to the frustrating mood around the club which has built all month long.
Here is a look at how Newcastle fans reacted to Everton’s move…
