A number of Newcastle United fans are hoping that Elias Sorensen could be handed a chance at the weekend.

A number of Newcastle fans on Twitter are imploring Rafa Benitez to hand Elias Sorensen a place in the matchday squad when the Magpies host Bournemouth at St James’ Park this weekend after he was handed a chance to impress the first-team in training.
Sorensen is enjoying a wonderful season for the club’s under-23s, with his recent brace against Manchester United taking his tally to 13 for the campaign.
Ahead of the game against the Cherries, Sorensen has been called up to train with the senior side – and that has left plenty of supporters wondering if he may get the opportunity to make his senior debut at the weekend.
It must be mentioned that the Chronicle has reported that Benitez is considering loaning the Dane out to a Football League club during the second-half of the campaign, so perhaps there is a chance that the Newcastle boss is keeping his options open.

If it was down to the Newcastle fans however, then it would appear that Sorensen would get the nod at the weekend and receive a spot on the bench against Eddie Howe’s side.
The Magpies have struggled to score goals during the early stages of this season, and many now think that it would be worth a roll of the dice by handing the youngster an opportunity to be in the squad this weekend while he is high on confidence.

Here is what some of the Newcastle supporters make of Sorensen being involved in first-team training…
