Newcastle United midfielder’s spell at the club has come to an end.
Newcastle United finally announced earlier today that Cheik Tiote has left the club to move to China.
Tiote signs with Beijing Enterprises, who are in the Chinese second division, beginning a new chapter in his career.

The central midfielder was signed by Newcastle in 2010 from FC Twente, and was handed a whopping six-year contract extension after just one season,
His early form saw him linked with big money moves to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea but Newcastle’s high asking price meant this never materialised.
Tiote’s most famous contribution was his phenomenal equaliser against Arsenal from long range to seal a 4-4 draw, with the Toon coming from four goals down. Remarkably that 2011 strike was his only ever goal for Newcastle.

This season he made only one substitute appearance for Newcastle in the league against Aston Villa, as well as playing in both FA Cup matches against Birmingham.
It had become clear that Tiote’s time at Newcastle was coming to an end, and the 30-year-old’s exit felt inevitable, and had been mooted for the past fortnight.
