Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar this summer.

A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports from the Daily Mirror over the weekend which suggested that Tottenham are interested in signing Fabian Schar.
Schar has been an inspired signing for the Magpies this season. The Mirror reports that he cost just £3 million in the summer, and he has gone on to become one of the latest players to prove exactly why Rafa Benitez deserves to be backed in the transfer market at St James’ Park.
The 27-year-old has made 18 Premier League appearances this term, scoring three goals for the Magpies, including that stunner against Burnley last month.
The Mirror suggests that Mauricio Pochettino has reignited his previous interest in the Swiss ahead of the summer, while Arsenal are also keen on a potential move for the centre-back.

But it is clear from social media that selling Schar would not be a popular move from the Newcastle hierarchy. Plenty have demanded that the Magpies hold out for 10 times what they paid last summer before they even consider a sale, while one fan even suggested £50 million should be the asking price.
Spurs supporters may have their concerns about Schar due to Newcastle’s current position in the Premier League table. But the reaction of the Toon Army to the reports should certainly encourage the Tottenham fans in case Pochettino does push for a deal to get done this summer.
