Henri Saivet is set to leave Newcastle United on deadline day.

Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet is reportedly closing in on a move to Turkish SuperLig side Sivasspor on loan until the end of the season – and Toon fans are frustrated that the club are selling, rather than buying.

Sky Sports claim Saivet, 27, is set to complete a loan move to Sivasspor with the deal likely to include an option to purchase the former Bordeaux midfielder at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

The midfielder has failed to climb back up the Newcastle pecking order, sitting behind the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Mo Diame, Isaac Hayden and Mikel Merino in the St. James’ Park pecking order.

Newcastle have only managed to complete a deal for one player this month in the form of a loan move for Chelsea left footer Kenedy, with Rafa Benitez being continually frustrated in the transfer window.

A striker is desperately needed but Benitez has seen moves for Daniel Sturridge, Nicolai Jorgensen and Islam Slimani all knocked back. Now, Newcastle fans have reacted to Saivet’s imminent move.

One fan has claimed it is just “more lies” as the club had earlier promised players would only leave if replacements were identified.
