The 20-year-old goalkeeper, released by the Magpies at the end of last season, joins the Red Devils following a successful trial.

Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Paul Woolston has expressed his delight at joining Manchester United.
The 20-year-old was released by the Magpies at the end of last season (Transfermarkt) after the club decided not to offer him a playing contract.
As a result, Newcastle will not receive either a transfer fee or compensation for the North Shields-born stopper.
Woolston came through the Tyneside club’s ranks and was promoted to the Under-18s in 2014, keeping a clean sheet against Man United in a 0-0 draw the same year.
He enjoyed loan stints at nearby clubs Blyth Spartans, Gateshead, South Shields and Darlington, but was let go from his contract in the summer of 2018.
Now, Woolston will be plying his trade for the Red Devils following a successful trial, as confirmed by the player and by his agents at Base Soccer Agency.

In a post on his Twitter page, the youngster – who has 14 caps for England’s Under-17s and one for the Under-18s – has described his new employers as “the biggest club in the world”.
A number of Newcastle fans took to Twitter to wish Woolston well following his move to Old Trafford, with some bemoaning Newcastle’s loss:
