Johan Mjallby suggested that Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez should be on Celtic’s radar this summer.

Several Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to respond to Johan Mjallby’s comments, which have been reported by the Express, in which he suggested that Celtic should be considering targeting Rafa Benitez this summer.
The Hoops could be on the lookout for a new manager at the end of the season. Neil Lennon may well be in pole position to keep the job, but the Scottish Premiership champions are yet to confirm anything.
Lennon has kept Celtic on track to win a domestic treble. But some fans remain unconvinced that he is the man to take the Bhoys forward, despite the superb results that he has got since returning to Parkhead. The football on show has been criticised at times.
And Mjallby appears to be slightly unconvinced that his former teammate and boss is the right man. He told the Express that Celtic should push the boat out and consider approaches for Benitez, Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Martinez.

The Chronicle reports that Benitez is out of contract at St James’ Park at the end of the season and is yet to commit to a new deal with the Magpies – though the report suggests that he wants to stay if given assurances by the board.
And it appears that plenty of Newcastle supporters are not worried about Celtic making a move for Benitez. The Toon Army cannot see the Spaniard having any interest in heading to Parkhead, even if he does end up leaving Tyneside.

Here is the best of the reaction to the reports…
