Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Thiago Maia.

Newcastle United are poised to add their fourth first-team signing of the summer in Amiens right back Emil Krafth, but there could yet be another arrival from France.
The Magpies have added Joelinton, Jetro Willems and Allan Saint-Maximin to Steve Bruce’s squad, and Krafth will add some depth at right back.
However, a midfielder may yet be on the radar too, with Le10 Sport claiming that Newcastle have entered the race to sign Thiago Maia from Lille.
It’s stated that Newcastle are trying to hijack Lille’s move for Maia ahead of the English transfer deadline, though the Italian deadline isn’t for a few weeks.
What’s interesting is that Maia was linked last summer, with Le10 Sport also suggesting that Newcastle wanted to take the midfielder on loan.
The 22-year-old Brazilian hasn’t quite lived up to his billing with Lille yet, having been touted for a bright future when he joined from Santos in 2017.

Some Newcastle fans would love to see Maia join the club before the deadline tomorrow, feeling that he could be a brilliant addition, especially alongside the more technically-gifted Jonjo Shelvey and Sean Longstaff.
Others are concerned though, feeling that signing Maia may hint at fellow midfielder Isaac Hayden being sold before the deadline, with the pair a little similar in terms of their combative nature.
