Newcastle secured a crucial win against Everton in their fight to avoid relegation from the Premier League – and Bruno Guimaraes made his debut late on. Toon fans are loving what he did, in his brief time on the pitch.

Bruno, 24, was named on the bench alongside Dan Burn as Eddie Howe chose to stick with a midfield of Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Willock. Bruno only linked up with the Toon last Friday, after representing Brazil.

With the scoreline reading 3-1, the Brazil international was introduced off the bench on 88 minutes to the utter delight of the St. James’ Park crowd. He helped Newcastle secure the win, as Everton endured a frustrating night.

A clip emerged of something Bruno did during his brief spell on the pitch during win – in which he takes the ball to the corner. After a step over, he takes two Everton players out of the game with a back heel to Joelinton.

What are Newcastle fans saying about Bruno moment on Tuesday?

Despite being a massive signing and a player with undoubted quality, Bruno might have to work hard to get himself into the starting line-up. Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Willock were superb in the middle of the park on Tuesday.

Dictating the tempo of the play, Shelvey completed 33 of his 38 passes and five of his six long balls – according to WhoScored. The energetic Willock was everywhere. It will be interested to see if Bruno starts against Villa.

But fans were delighted with his brief display and most notably, his moment of genius – as seen above. Plenty took to Twitter to discuss Bruno’s little pass to Joelinton as Newcastle climbed out of the drop zone.
