Reports suggest Newcastle are in talks to land the AS Monaco midfielder.

Newcastle United are reportedly in talks to rival Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur for AS Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans, before the end of the January transfer window – and fans are desperate to see him signed.
Belgian outlet HLN claim Newcastle have opened talks to land the 19-time Belgium international, while Leicester City have attempted to land the 21-year-old as part of a swap deal with Adrien Silva.
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested, with the re-appointment of Leonardo Jardim following the departure of Thierry Henry meaning that Tielemans will be allowed to leave.
Henry gave Tielemans the captaincy towards the end of his reign, and was known to rate the ex-RSC Anderlecht playmaker highly. That is the complete opposite of Jardim, who has criticised Tielemans in the past.

During 2016-17, Tielemans scored 18 goals and created 15 more during his 53 league and cup appearances for Anderlecht before joining Monaco. He has since struggled, scoring only five goals in 65 games for Monaco.
Newcastle fans have reacted to the news that their club could be in the market to sign Tielemans before Thursday’s 11pm deadline, and although it may seem unbelievable given Mike Ashley’s control of the club, fans are in meltdown.
