Diame has said he is hoping for a new contract at Newcastle.

Mo Diame has been quoted as saying that he wants to sign a new contract with Newcastle United, as he enters the last few months of his current deal – and Newcastle fans have urged their club to keep him on.
The 31-year-old told The Chronicle that he is keen to remain at Newcastle, with the Senegal international a first-team regular at St. James’ Park. He has started every single Premier League match this season.
He said: “Everyone knows I am near the end of my contract. But I am really happy and I hope to stay more years here. I’m happy because I’m playing and if I’m playing and doing well, Newcastle will extend my contract.”
Diame is said to be one of the highest earners at Newcastle, pocketing £45,000 a week – the same as Matt Ritchie and Ayoze Perez. Those three players are only behind Jonjo Shelvey, who earns £70,000 a week (Spotrac).
The former Hull City and Wigan Athletic midfielder endured a difficult start to life on Tyneside following his move to Newcastle in the summer of 2016, but managed to work his way back into the side last season.

Now, he is one of the first names on the team sheet and has struck up a strong relationship with Ki Sung-yueng in the middle of the park.
Despite his age and his seemingly high earnings, Newcastle fans believe he deserves a new deal and want their club to take action by extending his contract.
