Rafael Benitez suggests that he would like to sign Fernando Torres for Newcastle United.

Torres is leaving Atletico Madrid this summer and will become a free agent, and his former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Benitez has suggested that he would like to bring the 34-year-old Spain international striker to Newcastle.
The Spaniard, though, has admitted that it will not be easy for the Magpies to convince the 2012 Champions League winner to switch to St. James’ Park.

Benitez told Marca about signing Torres: “I think it will be harder for him to come for him, not because we don’t want to.
”I don’t know what’s going on in his head, but maybe he is thinking about something else. It would be appealing, but I don’t think it would be easy.”
Benitez’s hint at a potential deal for Torres has gone down well with many Newcastle supporters, who are buzzing at the idea of the 2010 World Cup winner playing for the team next season, as the following posts on social networking site Twitter show.
Newcastle need a proven goalscorer next season in order to have a successful season, and Torres could prove to be a very good signing for the Magpies.
