Newcastle United fans on Twitter are raving about Javier Manquillo.
Manquillo came up against former side Liverpool at St James’s Park on Saturday as Rafael Benitez’s side went down 3-2.
It was an exceptional effort from Newcastle and particularly from the Spanish right-back, arguably the game’s outstanding player.
He was superb for the Magpies in both defence and attack – and some fans of the North-East club are shocked.
This is a player who has often infuriated the Newcastle fans with slapdash displays, but he certainly looks a decent player and has done in recent weeks.

Consistency is key for the Spaniard. He has excited Newcastle fans before but never on a long-term basis. Invariably he slips back into the old habits which made supporters ridicule him, but if he can buck up his ideas on a weekly basis next season then maybe, just maybe, he can be a big player for Benitez.
